Kasauli, located in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, India, is a serene hill station known for its colonial charm, lush greenery, and pleasant climate. Established as a cantonment town by the British in 1842, Kasauli offers a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The town is situated at an altitude of approximately 1,800 meters (5,900 feet) above sea level and is surrounded by dense forests of pine and cedar trees. Kasauli is home to several attractions, including the Monkey Point, Gilbert Trail, Christ Church, and the Mall Road, making it a perfect destination for nature lovers and history enthusiasts.
DAYWISE TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Delhi - Kasauli
Start your journey from Delhi early in the morning. The distance between Delhi and Kasauli is approximately 290 kilometers, and the road trip usually takes around 6-7 hours. Upon arrival, check-in at your chosen hotel or resort in Kasauli. After a delicious lunch, take some time to relax and soak in the serene surroundings. In the evening, visit the Mall Road, a bustling promenade lined with charming shops, eateries, and colonial-style architecture. Enjoy a leisurely stroll and take in the breathtaking views of the verdant hills and mist-clad peaks.
Day 2: Exploring Kasauli
Begin your day with a visit to the Monkey Point, the highest point in Kasauli, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and the distant Chandigarh plains. The point is also home to a small temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Afterward, head to the Gilbert Trail, a scenic nature walk that takes you through dense forests and offers stunning views of the hills. In the afternoon, visit the Christ Church, a beautiful Anglican church built in the Gothic style, known for its stained glass windows and serene ambiance. Return to the Mall Road for some shopping and indulge in local delicacies at the various cafes and eateries.
Day 3: Kasauli - Delhi
After breakfast, visit the Sunset Point, a popular spot offering breathtaking views of the sunset over the hills. Next, explore the Kasauli Brewery, one of the oldest distilleries in Asia, where you can learn about the brewing process and sample some of the local brews. Before heading back to Delhi, make a stop at the Timber Trail, a scenic spot offering a cable car ride with stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
