DAYWISE TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival at Udaipur
Udaipur, known as the ‘Venice of the East’, offers a captivating experience for both the eyes and the mind. Its charming manmade lakes, magnificent palaces that reflect the city’s royal history, and lush greenery create a serene atmosphere that connects you with the beauty of nature. Founded by Maharana Udai Singh II in 1553, this ‘City of Lakes’ is also rich in resources like zinc and marble, and is shielded from the Thar Desert by the Aravalli Hills. In addition to these marvels, the city hosts a variety of festivals throughout the year, providing a stimulating environment for your artistic side to flourish. Udaipur effortlessly immerses you in its vibrant culture, making it a truly remarkable destination.
Day 2: Udaipur Sightseeing
Commence your day with a regal touch that truly complements one of the city’s remarkable attributes. Explore the splendid Udaipur City Palace, which consists of four major palaces and several minor ones, standing tall above Lake Pichola. The palace showcases astonishing and distinctive architectural wonders such as its balconies, cupolas, and towers. Additionally, you can admire the various artifacts exhibited in the museum. Following the two-hour palace visit, embark on a boat ride across Pichola Lake. The Lake Palace, also known as Jag Niwas, is now a luxurious hotel and has been featured in numerous movies. It is a sight that will leave you in awe. Next, make your way to Bagore Ki Haveli, where you can delve deeper into the culture and lifestyle of Mewar through the antique collection belonging to the Rajputs. This collection includes jewelry boxes, copper vessels, and more. Additionally, you can enjoy folk music and dance performances that are frequently held there. Apart from the lakes like Fateh Sagar Lake and the palaces, make sure to visit the vintage car collection at the grounds of Garden Hotel. The city also boasts wildlife sanctuaries in its vicinity. Conclude your visit by stopping at Shilpgram, a traditional center for arts and handicrafts, where you can acquire souvenirs to take back home.
Day 3: Drive to Mountabu (3 Hours / 160 Kms Approx)
After a 3-hour ride from Udaipur, you will arrive at Mount Abu, the only hill station in Rajasthan. This small hill station is adorned with lakes, waterfalls, intriguing rock formations, ancient colonial bungalows, and misty green folds, offering a refreshing escape from the bustling parts of Rajasthan. Surrounding Lake Nakki, you will find eateries and markets where you can enjoy a boat ride. The Dilwara Temple, carved out of white marble and of great spiritual significance, along with Achalgarh Fort and Guru Shikhar, are among the main attractions of Mount Abu. Additionally, the wildlife sanctuaries make it a haven for nature enthusiasts. For those interested in trekking, caving, camping, and rock climbing, Mount Abu is a paradise. Don’t forget to visit the sunset point to end your day on a beautiful note.
Day 4: Mountabu - Jodhpur (4 Hours / 260 Kms Approx)
After a journey of four and a half hours, you will arrive in Jodhpur, the blue city of Rajasthan, located in the Thar Desert. The city is known for its blue-painted buildings, which were once used to distinguish houses occupied by upper caste Brahmins. Like other cities in Rajasthan, Jodhpur, the second largest city in the state, is filled with magnificent palaces and remnants of its royal past. Take a leisurely walk through the blue streets and witness the vibrant everyday life of the city, which will surely leave a lasting impression on your memories of this place. Don’t forget to explore the other main attractions as well.
Day 5: Jodhpur Sightseeing
Commence your sightseeing in Jodhpur at the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, constructed from red sandstone, which stands in striking contrast to the blue city it overlooks. This fort, one of the largest in India, was built by Rao Jodha around 1460 and sits 410 feet above the city with its sturdy walls serving as boundaries. Inside the fort, you will discover unique museum shops showcasing elephant’s howdas and palanquins, as well as restaurants offering a splendid view of the city while enjoying a romantic meal. For an adrenaline rush, head to the north side of the fort and experience zip-lining. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore the Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, a captivating park that was once a rocky wasteland but has now been transformed with walking trails and breathtaking vistas. Your visit to Jodhpur would be incomplete without a trip to the clock tower and the vibrant market that surrounds it, where you can witness its perfect functionality. Additionally, make sure to visit The Jaswant Thada, a cenotaph built by Maharaja Sardar Singh in honor of his father. This architectural marvel is constructed using white marble.
Day 6: Departure Jodhpur - Jaipur
Your excursion will end on the sixth day, with transportation provided to Jodhpur/Jaipur airport or train station.
